Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season were outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
